Ludo is a digital board game designed for 2 to 4 players, offering both strategic gameplay and an element of chance with its dice rolls. The core objective for each player is to be the first to move all four of their tokens from their starting box, around the board, and into the central HOME area. Players take turns rolling a single dice, with a roll of six being essential to bring a token into active play.
Core Play and Objective
The game begins with four tokens placed in each player’s starting box. Once a token is on the board, it moves clockwise according to the number rolled on the dice. Strategic decisions come into play as players can earn an extra dice roll by landing on an opponent’s token, effectively knocking it back to its starting box. Similarly, rolling a six also grants an additional turn, allowing for quick progression or the activation of more tokens. The game concludes when one player successfully guides all four of their tokens into their designated HOME area at the center of the board. Progress for each player can be monitored via a percentage display.
Game Modes and Accessibility
Players can engage in several modes, including single-player matches against a computer opponent. For social play, the game supports local multiplayer sessions for 2 to 4 players, allowing friends and family to compete offline. Version 2.0.0 introduced online multiplayer, enabling players to create private rooms and compete with friends remotely. To enhance the playing experience, the game includes multi-colored dice with real dice roll animations and offers options to throw dice instantly or by shaking the phone. Players can also customize the game speed and select from various supported languages, including English, Hindi, Nepali, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, and Indonesian. Games can be continued at any time.
